UMBRA FOREST

The Foresta Umbra nature reserve is a protected natural area located in the innermost part of the Gargano National Park. It owes its name to the dense vegetation that makes it very shady for many stretches.
The Umbrian forest has an area of about 10,000 hectares and has a rugged geography with reliefs that reach 800 meters above sea level, with some parts arriving close to the coasts. Rich in flora, the Umbrian forest boasts more than 2,000 plant species and is the largest Italian deciduous forest with beech trees, real botanical monuments, with heights of over 40 meters and diameters greater than one meter....

TREMITI ISLANDS

The Tremiti Islands are the only Italian archipelago in the Adriatic Sea and are located about 12 miles off the coast of Gargano, in northern Puglia.

Also known as Diomedee, the Tremiti represent a small corner of paradise that attracts thousands of tourists every year thanks to the clear sea, the clean seabed, the pleasant climate, the pure air, the luxuriant vegetation, the still wild and uncontaminated nature, the bays and headlands, low and sandy coasts, but also high and rocky with cliffs overlooking the sea....

MONTE SANT'ANGELO

Monte Sant'Angelo is known all over the world for its religious history, becoming an obligatory destination on Michael's pilgrimages. Saints, emperors, popes, kings or simple faithful have come here to kneel before the altar of the Archangel Michael.

The inhabited center is the highest in the Gargano (843 m.) And is located in an admirable panoramic position on a spur south of the promontory, with breathtaking views open to the west on the Tavoliere and to the south on the Gulf of Manfredonia....

SAN GIOVANNI ROTONDO

San Giovanni Rotondo is world famous because it is the place where the remains of San Pio da Pietrelcina, a Capuchin monk, lived for about 50 years in the town of Gargano.

Immersed in the greenery of the Gargano National Park and resting on the heights of the hills close to Monte Calvo, the city of San Giovanni is set in the center of a beautiful natural setting. Going back in time, to discover the origins of this town, we go back to the year 1000. It was founded on the ruins of a pre-existing 4th century BC village; visible signs of this village still remain, such as some tombs and a circular baptistery that was formerly intended for the cult of Janus, later consecrated to San Giovanni....

MARINE CAVES

The coast of the Gargano, especially the stretch from Vieste to Mattinata is one of the most suggestive landscapes of Puglia high white cliffs overlooking the sea, with pines, gorse and cysts that stretch over the blue waters alternate with small inlets and white pebble beaches accessible only by sea.

Between the coves and the small green oases, kingdom of the seagulls and hawks, we find the sea caves large cavities in which the sea creeps. In these galleries with particular shapes, thanks to the filtering light and its reflections between rocks and Mediterranean scrub, the water acquires enchanting tones of color giving us magnificent spectacles....
